Great Tool for Salad Making

For quick and easy salad making, I found this kitchen tool to be very useful. Salad greens should be nice and crisp, so a good salad spinner is essential.

The last one I had should have been retired years ago. It didn’t spin well and the base had holes, so I had to use it over the sink. Recently I bought an Oxo salad spinner and am very happy with it. It has a bowl with no holes and the inside piece can double as a colander when not using the spinner. Plus it has a ‘brake’ so you can stop the spinning in a second.

The spinner is big enough to do a fair amount of lettuce at a time. Also, it can be used for other things than salad making.  I also used it recently after I went raspberry picking. I washed the berries and spun them dry so they won’t ice up in the freezer.

The top two pieces come apart for easy washing. The only thing I’d caution you about is making sure the inside top piece is totally dry before you put it away. If you put it upside down in your dish tray, it will dry out.
