5 Ways To Stop Food Cravings
Food cravings can add on the pound – if you act on them. That ‘if’ is a big part of the equation. No harm done by just having them. Here are five ways you can release those pesky food cravings quickly when a particular food starts to talk to you.
- Take 10 slow, smooth breaths. You will probably notice that your state of mind has changed. Do it more than once if needed.
- Tap on it. Just tap on the points saying, “This craving for chocolate chip cookies (put in whatever the craving is for). If you are unfamiliar with tapping, go to makingweightlosseasy.com and read the Quick Start Guide.
- Change the modalities in your mind. Picture the food, then see if it is bright or dull / in color or black and white / moving or still / close or far away / large or small. Then change each modality. For example, if it was bright now picture it dull; if it was in color now picture it in black and white.
- Change the scene. Think about something else that is enjoyable for you. Maybe create a vacation scene in your mind, or a fun meeting with friends.
- Go do something else. People often chose: take a walk, read a book, play listen to music, dance, or drink water. You come up with your own creative interventions if the above don’t appeal to you.
